Apply to be either an Instructor or Teaching Assistant:

Instructor:

Instructors are people who are passionate about sharing their knowledge of Philippine culture in any subject (music, history, language, dance, etc.) with the next generation. They are able to create lesson plans that appropriate for varying age groups, demonstrate effective classroom management, and help students prepare a culminating project that presents everything they learn throughout the program.

Teaching Assistant:

Teaching Assistants (TAs) are people who are knowledgeable in a subject related to Philippine culture but may still be developing their teaching abilities. They are able to engage with and support fellow educators to ensure that their lesson plans are well-executed. They may present fresh perspectives for both the students as well as the instructors they work with.

Requirements:

  • In order to be an Instructor or Teaching Assistant with FCS, you must fulfill all requirements of FCS volunteers.

  • To be an Instructor, you must also…

    • Be able to demonstrate competence in a subject related to Philippine culture.

    • Have 2+ years of experience working in education and/or with K-12 students.

  • To be a Teaching Assistant, you must also…

    • Have an interest in and be able to research and teach topics related a subject related to Philippine culture.

    • Have 1+ year of experience working in education and/or with K-12 students.
